What were you looking for? What challenges did you hope to overcome?

We were looking for an interactive tool which we could use to shape a young person’s learning journey and provide assessment tracking progress, whilst also being able to adapt to fit our club philosophy.

Why did you choose The Development Wheel?

The ease of use for us as a club, with regard to implementing our philosophy, and for our learners so they could track their progress visually.

How have you implemented The Development Wheel to achieve your goals?

We have termly 1-1 meetings with players and parents/carers which is a shared approach. We have been able to upload videos and challenges to support our learners’ journeys.

What impact has using The Development Wheel had at your organisation?

The Wheel has given us a clear focus on what we need to deliver at each age group, alongside raising the expectations of what can be taught and ultimately learnt. It has helped us build stronger relationships with both the players and their parents/carers, stimulating discussions as we strive to support the goals of our young people.

Would you recommend The Development Wheel to others?

100%. The Development Wheel will take their programme to the next level.

The Development Wheel has elevated our programme, raising the bar on what we can achieve as a club to develop young people. The learning behaviours within our club are at an all-time high with coaches, players and parents/carers, all clearly focused towards developing the player, the person and the team.
